Andre Toussant

The Bahamas woke up every morning to “Where have all the flowers Gone”, on Radio Bahamas in the 1960s, which was this crooner’s re-make of the classic. Andre hailed from Port Au Prince Haiti. He brought merengue and Haitian culture to the Bahamas tourists’ scene and was lead singer for a number of bands before he went solo. Other Haitian artists like Robert “Bob” Gordon complemented his fare along with an all Haitian band that played at the Pink Pussy Cat in the 1970s.
